What To Do When Everyone Else Looks Better

Step Out of the Comparison Trap

I almost quite sewing over a Pinterest post. I knew better, but I still fell for it…the comparison trap!

I once saw a photo on Pinterest that made me question my entire creative career. Perfect lighting. Impeccable styling. Handmade perfection. And all I could think was: “Wow! Incredible! Why does my stuff never look like that?”

I know better. You probably do too.

But that didn’t stop the spiral. Suddenly I was rethinking my prices. Second-guessing my designs. Wondering if maybe I should just… stop.

This week’s podcast is about that exact feeling—the sneaky, silent poison that is comparison. We all know we “shouldn’t compare ourselves,” but what happens when you do it anyway? What happens when it messes with your pricing… your confidence… your ability to ‘put yourself out there?’ And more importantly—how do you get out of it?

This episode isn’t just another “don’t compare yourself” pep talk. You’ve heard enough of that!

I’m sharing the real ways comparison shows up in your creative life—especially as a fabric artist or maker—and what to do when it starts to mess with your visibility, your pricing, and your joy. I even share the spiral I fell into recently. (Spoiler: It was the internet’s fault. Again.)

Whether you’ve been stuck in the comparison trap for weeks or just need a reminder to stay in your own lane—you’ll want to hear this.

Your creativity deserves better than the highlight reel.
